Remember the days ........ you plugged your computer into the TV to use as a screen, a video rental cost $12NZ,
buying a video recorder would set you back $2500NZ and the Microwave hadn't even thought about living in a
domestic kitchen.
Those were the days, in a small town called Waiuku, New Zealand, that Andrew began playing with the schools
computer,
sneaking into the computer room at lunchtime to play games with his mates......and here the Cruzetech story begins.
From playing around at school he went on to work in a store, which also sold Atari and ZX Spectrum machines, electronics and video rentals.
His boss decided that they needed a database to keep records of the videos being rented and returned.
So the two men sat down and wrote a system using an Epson laptop with a four-line LCD screen and built-in micro tape drive & dot-matrix printer using Basic Programming Language.
His first development project was off the ground, and he kept on running.
He set up business building and repairing computers, networking, selling software
and hardware by mail order and providing a computer rental business to local businesses.
Business was good so from the small town of Waiuku he moved to the more bustling city of Auckland, where he started developing software again using FoxPro.
And that is where the relationship began and lasted over 20 years to date.
